Flatbush Community Day 2024

FDC would like to invite you to participate in our weekend of Flatbush Beautification – at our Flatbush Community Day culminated by a full day of activities, resources, and celebration at the kick-off of our Open Streets season on Sunday, May 19 from 11 AM – 7 PM.

Our vision for this event: We hope to engage all of the stakeholders and community partners of Flatbush, from our Tenant & Neighborhood Associations, local schools, community organizations, local businesses, and more to come together and clean up our neighborhood. In addition to providing supplies for street clean-up, and mailbox/ lamp post painting – we will host a variety of activities on Newkirk Avenue on Sunday, May 19.

The day will include – but not limited to:
* (11 AM -3 PM) Paper Shredding services on site
* (11 AM -3 PM) Electronic waste recycling
* (11 AM – 6 PM) Community Clean up ( this will include street cleaning, painting over graffiti, touching up mail boxes, etc. )
* (12-4) Clothing and Textile Recycling
* (12-4) Live set by DJ Yah Supreme
* (12-4) Bounce house/games for kids (timing unsure at the moment)
* (12-4) Community Light project workshop (If you have signed up for this separately you will receive a separate email about these details)
* (12-4)  Arts & Crafts throughout the day
* Community resource tabling by local organizations throughout the day

Our Location & Volunteering: Newkirk Ave b/w East 17 and Coney Island Avenue
